This bible study is centered around the end of the world prophecies.
I take a freedom, in this Bible study, to be heretic and make mistakes. Some of my mistakes and herecy may be dangerous for a just converted or a nonbeliever and he is referred to my book Pensees II (or to contact any Christian church like Lutheran, Pentecostal, Orthodox, Catholic, Methodist, Baptist etc.) It can be downloaded for free from http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/topikarki, http://topikarki.freehomepage.com, and http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/hobbykarki. 4th April, 2001. I have been reading the gospel of John and thought if it really is written by the most beloved disciple of Jesus, John. Otherwise the author is a lier, or someone has added something to the end of it. The story seems very authentic to me. It describes very realistically how awful people are and tell that Jesus was almost a criminal from the point of view of the state and mean people. It would be surprising if none of his disciples would not have written a gospel and because of the authority of a disciple it could have been preserved very well.
Then a very merciful point in it:
John 16:7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt [1] in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; 10 in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. 12 "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.Jesus says that the only sin of people is that they don't believe, we are righteous or better in His eyes only because Jesus died for us and only Satan is judged to hell yet, none of us people.
Then I noticed yesterday an intriguing detail in the revelation.
Revelation 12:1 A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. It is one of the most difficult points in the revelation, I have to say I don't understand it. But the interesting detail I noticed is that there is a red dragon that is Satan and it looks very much like the beast of the revelation:3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. 4 His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.
Revelation 13:1 And the dragon [1] stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The sea means all the people of the world.
About 11th of April, my 27th birthday.
2 Corinthians 5:14 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. One died therefore we all have died. Jesus showed so big love for other people that he died for them. Love is forever, therefore the Greek logic seems very rusty like it is almost thrown away already, the suffering is infinitely important and that is what we Christians try to reduce. In pain or desperation only the true living God, Jesus, can help. I'm afraid horrible times will come and therefore I thought to concentrate on the Revelation.
Let's start with the most basic points. But first I should say that no prophecies can be explained by the effort of a man but only when the Holy Ghost reveals something. But it does not mean that a nonbeliever, researcher, when he reads them through could not make important discoveries. Also the date of the end is unpredictable and it can come at any minute. I go through the main points in the bible that tell about the end of the world and interprete them. But my interpretation may be totally false and I may have missed important points that I have not noticed or understood. Therefore I always try to write the points and then explain, the points are more important than what I am talking. And I of course make mistakes.
Revelation 13The beast is a kingdom that rules the earth. Notice that the beast and the dragon (=Satan) look alike. The sea is all the people of the world, it is explained later in the Revelation. The dragon is Satan and the reason for all of it. It has 10 horns and 7 heads just as the dragon. These heads and horns turn out to be important, the 10 horns are 10 kings that are going to rule this world together with the Antichrist. The seaven heads are also 7 kings together with 8th that is the beast.1 And the dragon [1] stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed.
The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4 Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked,
"Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"
5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. 6 He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. [2]
9 He who has an ear, let him hear.
10 If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed [3] with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.
11 Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. 12 He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. 14 Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18 This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
Then it is told that the whole world followed the beast, it is a global thing.
Then it is told that the beast gets a mouth. This is an important minute, it is the moment that begins the last three and half years before the second coming of Jesus. In the book of Daniel (see below) it is told that at this point a new horn that has a mouth and eyes appear and three other horns are cut off. It may be the appearance of the Antichrist.
The statue of the beast might be the computers. Or it might be some home robot. Anyway if it is the computer I don't think it is a bad idea to use ascii code to calculate the number of the beast by adding the values of the letters togeother. In Roman and Greek alphabet the letters were also numbers.
Daniel 7:6 "After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule. 7 "After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast--terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns. 8 "While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth that spoke boastfully.9 "As I looked, "thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. 10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.
11 "Then I continued to watch because of the boastful words the horn was speaking. I kept looking until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. 12 (The other beasts had been stripped of their authority, but were allowed to live for a period of time.)
Daniel 7:23 "He gave me this explanation: `The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it. 24 The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. 25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time. [1] 26 "`But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever. 27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.'These 3rd and 4th beasts refer to the 3rd and 4th realms that will rule the world, the 3rd is a global realm like if Hitler would have invaded the world and 4th realm is different. (So that beasts=kingdoms=statue.) These realms are described in the dream of Nebuchadnezzar:28 "This is the end of the matter. I, Daniel, was deeply troubled by my thoughts, and my face turned pale, but I kept the matter to myself."
Daniel 2:27 Daniel replied,This 4th realm is obviously the same as the realm of the beast. 3rd realm is described that it rules the whole world and it does not differ from that of Nebuchadnezzar which seems to hint that some Hitler one day invades the world or aliens."No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, 28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you lay on your bed are these:
29 "As you were lying there, O king, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen. 30 As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I have greater wisdom than other living men, but so that you, O king, may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind.
31 "You looked, O king, and there before you stood a large statue--an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance. 32 The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, 33 its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay. 34 While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. 35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth. 36 "This was the dream, and now we will interpret it to the king.
37 You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory; 38 in your hands he has placed mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds of the air. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold. 39 "After you, another kingdom will rise, inferior to yours. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth. 40 Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron--for iron breaks and smashes everything--and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others. 41 Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. 42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. 43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.
44 "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. 45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands--a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. "The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and the interpretation is trustworthy."
Anyway when one starts studying the end of the world prophecies it is a good idea to start with the Revelation and the book of Daniel. (In addition there are short points in the letters of Paul and other Apostols that tell about the antichrist and that perhaps Israel is going to be a Christian state like Finland. As well as Jesus mentioned something.) But one has to be careful, the prophecies are told often in parables eg. Israel and Jerusalem may mean Christians, not the geographical places. If God says black is white it is.
This Daniel 7 tells a lot about these horns already. These ten kings rule this realm of the beast and actually Revelation 17 reveals that these 10 kings rule it simultaneously.
Revelation 17This Revelation 17 describes the prostitute that rides the beast. In 17:18 it is said that this prostitute is the capital of the world. The capital of the 3rd realm? Or is it that people beat this 3rd realm and there is a time of peace and the 4th will appear. In 17:8 it is told that at this particular moment that the angel is speaking the beast has been but now it does not exist. Then at 17:9 it is told that the prostitute sits on 7 hills, it is mountains in my Finnish translation. Anyway, it continues that these 7 heads of the beast are also 7 kings. 5 have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, he lasts for a while and then comes 8th and he is one of the seven.1 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters. 2 With her the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries." 3 Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. 5 This title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6 I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly astonished.
7 Then the angel said to me:
"Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns. 8 The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come.
9 "This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. 10 They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. 11 The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.
12 "The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13 They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers."
15 Then the angel said to me,
"The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages. 16 The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to give the beast their power to rule, until God's words are fulfilled.
18 The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth."
John 16:20 I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. 21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. 22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. 23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything...
18th April, 2001. The will of the Lord is a pain in the ass. It is important to rest so that one is able to make it, it is usually something different than we would like it to be.
It is funny that Satan tries to cheat us that the reality is dull and a realistic person knows that in all the good things one has to eat a bit of dirt also. That is not true, the world is exciting and has a bit of a fairy tale too. For example, I found the eternal youth in my Bible that looks very much like the other books but is not.
15th of May, 2001. I have been praying for the spiritual gift of distinguishing spirits. I have not got it yet but I have heard words that wait for the spiritual gift of distinguishing spirits but I don't know if it is God or Satan or something else because I don't have that gift.
But ever since that God has taught me things about it. I know it is not intuition or ration or some points in the Bible like every spirit that admits Jesus is Christ is from God. It is a true spiritual gift. Sometimes the prophets in the Old Testament did weird things like Isaiah walked 3 years naked. They must have had it.
I have had the spiritual gift of prophecy for a long time and I see pictures, dreams and sometimes hear words. But the difficulty is to distinguish when it is from God. I hope the spiritual gift of distinguishing spirits solves this problem.
10th of June, 2001. Warning about the sign of the beast, check Revelation in the Bible. It is said that the beast forces everyone to put a sign to the right hand or to the forehead. One is not allowed to buy or sell without that sign. It has a name on it or a number, check Revelation for sure. If one calculates the number of the name it is 666. Let's speculate, it might be a transistor or transmitter or something and it might be mother or mommie's or just 666 on it.
The horrible point is that if one takes it one goes to hell. 2007-9 this is not true, it is a matter of interpreting the bible. The gospel holds to the end, who believes in Jesus gets his sins forgiven, including the mark of the beast.
Let's speculate more, it might be that the sign is in secret and no one can see if you have taken it. Who knows if many people have it already. So be careful, it is better to be murdered, raped and tortured according to the Bible.
27th of November, 2001 Let's see what the bible says about the sign of the beast:
Revelation 13:16 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
Revelation 14:9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, 10 he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name."
It is said that if anyone takes the sign of the beast and worships the beast and his image he goes to hell, this is again a matter of interpreting the bible. God will hit them with plagues until the end so that as many as possible are saved(?).
Then Jesus talks about the end according to Matthew (see also Mark 13:3-37, Luke 21:7-36 John does not have such a point):
Matthew 24:3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
4 Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, `I am the Christ,[1] ' and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15 "So when you see standing in the holy place `the abomination that causes desolation,'[2] spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand-- 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again. 22 If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, `Look, here is the Christ!' or, `There he is!' do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 "So if anyone tells you, `There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, `Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
29 "Immediately after the distress of those days
"`the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'[3]30 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[4] is near, right at the door. 34 I tell you the truth, this generation[5] will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[6] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, `My master is staying away a long time,' 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
We learn that the end can come at any second, although the prophecies do not seem to be fulfilled. The time and moment cannot be predicted.
It is worth noting the abomination that causes desolation that is also in Daniel. After it everyone in Judea must flee to the mountains. Because of a flud or just the enemy that invades Jerusalem and establishes the abomination in the temple? (Judea is the area surrounding Jerusalem.) It follows three and half year's distress, the greatest that has ever been, that ends in the coming of Jesus who comes to save the Christians. It tells about how awful time it is that there are a lot of wrong prophets and messiahs. It is told to pray that we don't need to flee in winter or during the Sabbath, I guess we Christians should prepare for such a distress and be ready to flee.
Here are the points of Daniel that tell about this abomination, such things existed in the old Temple in the times of Maccabean wars, the enemy brought a statue of Zeus or something in the temple:
Daniel 9:26 After the sixty-two `sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing.[8] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one `seven.'[9] In the middle of the `seven'[10] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing [of the temple] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.[The wing of the temple is in my Finnish translation the highest point of the temple. It is funny that the temple does not exist anymore, it was destroyed 70AD by Romans which was also prophesied by Jesus. Also the sacrifice and offering are not important to Christians because of the sacrifice of Jesus that ended the sacrifice and offering. Mark tells instead of the abomination one should watch that Jerusalem is surrounded by the troops of enemies. So it seems that Jerusalem is invaded at the time. (It is told in Romans that Jews convert to Christians before the end, perhaps there is a church at the time and at the highest point of the church there is a cross? But what about the sacrifice and offering then.) It is worth noting that the prophecy about the date of death of Jesus precedes this point that was considered in Pensees II.
Daniel 11:Here was also the antichrist that is discussed later.31 "His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation. 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.
33 "Those who are wise will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered. 34 When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them. 35 Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.
36 "The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place.
Daniel 12:1 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people--everyone whose name is found written in the book--will be delivered. It is worth emphasizing that the end is the worst disaster of human history.
Daniel 12:7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time.[2] When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed."
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"
9 He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
11 "From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
13 "As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance."
Here the three and half years was in days.
In Revelation it is told that the Christians flee to some place in the desert for this three and half years. It is worth thinking what this place could be because the end can come at any moment.
Revelation 12: 1 A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. 4 His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
Revelation 12: 13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent's reach. 15 Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. 16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring--those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. It is worth noting that the woman (the Christians, the bride of Jesus) was given two wings of a great eagle, aeroplane? Also if you missed the plane you are in trouble, the dragon was enraged and went off to make war against the rest. Notice that the pains of the Christians and Jesus are only pains of giving birth (labor). This is for us so that we are not horrified, they are only labor.
What this desert might be?
Jeremiah 5:21 Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear: 22 Should you not fear me?" declares the LORD. "Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it.It could be that because the sea is the symbol of all the people, the desert could be the symbol of uninhabited regions? This is why I have given instructions about survival. Then the antichrist:
2 Thessalonians 2:3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[1] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.5 Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
1 John 2:18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. This antichrist that is killed by Jesus when he comes was also probably above in Daniel 9 and 11. He is also the horn of the beast with a mouth or the mouth of the beast see even further above. He probably has 10 disciples, the horns of the beast just as Jesus had 12. Perhaps the number of the beast is the number of his name. It is mentioned that the secret of lawlessness was already present at the time of Paul. It is said that we know what is holding back the antichrist, perhaps when he comes some prophecy comes up in our minds and we think we should have known it.
Then the general structure of the plagues of the Revelation: the 7 seals, the 7 trumpets and the 7 bowls. Thumb rule, 777 compare with 666, the number of the Christ? At the last moment there are the 6th and 7th bowls that are followed by Armageddon and the greatest earthquake of all times that destroys Babylon, the capital of the world (in another point in Revelation 17 it is told that the beast destroys it):
Revelation 16:Notice for digression that Paul says about the end:12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. 13 Then I saw three evil[1] spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.
15 "Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed."
16 Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.
17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, "It is done!" 18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. 21 From the sky huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.
1 Thessalonians 4:15 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord foreverAt the time that Jesus comes it it is said about this battle at Armageddon
Revelation 19:19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. Also Daniel has probably this battle at Armageddon which means the mountain of Megiddo that was a historical site for many battles in the Old Testament:
Daniel 11:40 "At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood. 41 He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand. 42 He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape. 43 He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Nubians in submission. 44 But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many. 45 He will pitch his royal tents between the seas at[6] the beautiful holy mountain. Yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him. Then after the last bowl, during Armageddon, Jesus comes in Revelation 19 and throws the beast and the second beast, the wrong prophet in hell. Then follows the realm of Christ for 1000 years. It is not clear what happens, it seems that Jesus reigns for 1000 years with the martyrs (that have risen from death) of the realm of the beast in Jerusalem. Could it be that the border between this world and the heaven and hell is broken. Then Satan is released and he gathers the other people to attack Jerusalem but who are these other people if the beast and the second beast are in hell. This is followed by the judgement day. Notice that if someone says that Jesus is in Jerusalem don't believe.
Revelation 20: 1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time. This is also considered (Gog and Magog) in Ezekiel 37:20-38:23 which is not quoted, but here is a mentioning by Paul:4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth--Gog and Magog--to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he "has put everything under his feet."[3] Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
